Best Known for – Getting kicked out of JEZEBEL MOON. HA HA! Trust me, it’s all good.
Past to current Musical Credits: I started playing drums in elementary school, then switched to bass guitar in my early teens, and finally guitar at age 17.
I was in my first band (and I use that term loosely) at age 13, playing drums along with friends from school.
In 1996 I joined the all-female cover band, NO APOLOGY.
I first performed with Tina & Denise in 1999 as part of the all-female rock band, JEZEBEL MOON, which resulted in my first experience recording a full-length CD of original material , titled “Premonition.”
In 2001 I joined the veteran all-female rock band, ECHO JANES, which is how I met Janice, the drummer. I recorded a full-length CD of original material with ECHO JANES, titled “Out of the Mouths of JANES” as well as a music video for the song “Break it Down.”
After ECHO JANES disbanded in 2004, Janice and I played in a cover band called, BROADBAND in 2006, which is how we met Row, the bass player. After a very brief stint with BROADBAND I occasionally sat in with friends from the cover band known as, BRANDED SOUL (Who have since changed their name to DIRTY BLONDE) but didn’t commit to any long term musical projects.
Then along came May 30, 2007. After not hearing from or seeing Tina & Denise for probably a year or more, I get an e-mail out of the blue from Denise. Apparently, SISTER FUNK had been offered an opportunity to perform as the opening act for ANTIGONE RISING, who incidentally is one of my favorite bands. At the time SISTER FUNK was going through some line-up changes and needed a guitar player and a drummer to fill in for that particular show. Janice and I accepted the invitation, which led to a second fill-in show about a week later, which would include our good friend, Row, BROADBAND’s former bass player…and the rest, my friends, is history…in the making.
Best Sister Funk Moments-
1) The events that led up to my being invited to be a part of SISTER FUNK came together in a really crazy, karmic sort of fashion. I’m very happy to be working with this line up and to be working with Tina & Denise again. I’m looking forward to having lots of “Best SISTER FUNK Moments” to write about.
My Dream- To tour the country playing awesome original music in the company of damn good friends. - |
